Overall, UK households made the most spendings in leisure sector while there were least spendings in other in New Zealand in both 1980 and 2008.
Firstly, the largest proportion of money went to leisure industry in UK with 27 percent in 1980 and 34 percent in 2008. The second largest spending of UK in both 1980 and 2008 was utility bills which was the same with New Zealand in 1980 with 27 percent but it rose to 31 percent and became the most dominant one in New Zealand. Spending on food and drink was declined in both countries with 23 percent to 13 percent in UK and 29 percent to 25 percent in New Zealand.
Furthermore, the least spending area in both countries was other sector in both years with same increasement of 9 percent to 11 percent. The leisure spending was decreased from 17 percent in 1980 to 18 percent in 2008 in New Zealand. In both countries, the money spent was declined from 1980 to 2008 by one percent: UK from 15 percent to 14 percent and New Zealand 17 percent to 16 percent.
