There were notably four highly used social media platforms among teens in the United States. First, Instagram was the most popular social media website, which was used by 25% of teenagers. Second in rank, 24% of American youngsters were accessing Facebook as of September 2019. Lastly, while 22% of teens browsed Snapchat’s application, Youtube attracted 16% of this cohort’s audience.
Conversely, the remaining social media applications did not surpass 5% of the teenagers’ demographic. To begin, only 5% of teenagers actively used Twitter. Additionally, the popularity of Tiktok in 2019 among teens was merely 2%. Finally, only 1% of teens reported using other social networks, and 1% did not know how to answer the survey.
In summary, teenagers had a consistent preference to use Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and Youtube in late 2019. Other social media networks were not so popular among teens.
