The provided charts below depict the statistics about the usage of the internet in five European countries: Spain, France, Sweden, Germany and the Uk in 2000.
The two charts compare the population of those particular countries using the internet and the amount of an average spending on shopping online per person.
Overall, it is clear that Sweden had the highest proportion of Internet users, while Spain recorded the lowest figure. In contrast, the UK spent the most money on online shopping per person, despite not having the highest internet usage.
In terms of Internet use, Sweden led by a significant advantage, with approximately 35% of its population using the Internet. The UK followed at around 20%, while Germany accounted for about 15%. France had a lower proportion, at roughly 10%, and Spain ranked last with only about 5% of people using the Internet.
Regarding average online shopping expenses, the UK topped the list, with spending reaching 80 euros per person. Sweden was the second highest at 76 euros, followed by France at 57 euros. Germany’s figure was more modest, at 46 euros, while Spain spent by far the least, only 10 euros per person.
