The pie charts compare the main modes of transport that were used by individuals for traveling to one specific university between 2004 and 2009.
Overall, it is clear that there was an upward trend in using four methods of transport, namely bicycles, buses,train and walking, while the reverse was true for car usage. In addition, even though there was an increase in figures for trains and walking, they remained the least common mode of transport.
At the beginning of the period, cars were commonly utilized to go to school or work with just above the half percent. However, this figure decreased sharply by 23% until 2009. In 2004, the usage of bicycles made up 9% of all transport, and it rose to 16. 4% of people who traveled on foot at the beginning of the period, which increased by just 2%.
In 2004, trains were the least common mode of transport that used to go to and come from the university, at 3%. Despite increasing by 1%, it remained the least common means of public transport. At the beginning of the given period, one-third of individuals were transported by bus, while it became the most popular mode of public transport (46%) during 5 years.
