Overall, travelling by car was the most common method in 2004, whereas bus became the most popular choice in 2009. Walking remained the least used method in both years.
In 2004, more than half of people travelled to the university by car, accounting for 51%. Bus was the second most common method at 33%. Much smaller proportions used bicycles (9%), while only 3% travelled by train and 4% walked.
By 2009, the use of buses increased significantly to 46%, becoming the most popular mode of transport. In contrast, car usage dropped sharply to 28%. Bicycle use also rose to 16%, while train and walking saw slight increases to 4% and 6% respectively.
