The first bar chart illustrates the proportion of Australia children joining in cultural activities and the second one indicates that of both genders students in sport in 2013 in Australia.
Overall, it stands out from the graph that the most significant figure for children of both genders are recorded in sport. It can be observed that the girl’ participation in cultural activities is higher than that of the boy in this year, with the exception of playing musical instruments.
A closer look at the chart reveals that computer games account for the highest number of boys’ participation, at 34%. Standing in the next place is basketball, which is 8% lower than the previous activity. The figures for listening to music, skateboarding, and soccer do not exceed 17%, with listening to music being the lowest among them, at 10%. Finally, reading ends the list with just 2%.
In terms of the girl’ activities, sports rank first with around 50%, twice as much as that of dancing. Standing in the next place is play musical instrument with 15% less than the previous activity. Finally, drama and singing ends the list at same percentage around 5%
