The bar chart compares levels of air pollution caused by electricity generation, transport, and industry in four countries (China, America, Japan, and Australia) in 2021. The unit of measurement is PPM (parts per million).
Overall, China records the highest pollution levels across all three sectors, while Australia consistently shows the lowest figures. Among the three sources, transport and industry tend to contribute more to pollution than electricity generation in most countries.
In China, industry is the major contributor at 80 PPM, followed by transport at 70 PPM and electricity generation at 60 PPM. By contrast, America has lower totals, with transport producing 58 PPM, electricity 30 PPM, and industry 28 PPM. Japan’s figures are more moderate, with industry again being the dominant source at 43 PPM, transport at 30 PPM, and electricity at only 15 PPM.
Australia shows the cleanest air overall, with pollution levels remaining similar across all three sectors, ranging between 18 and 20 PPM. Unlike the other countries, its emissions are almost evenly distributed across electricity, transport, and industry.
