The chart compares average numbers for temperature and precipitation for each month of a calendar year in Kolkata.
It is clearly seen from the graph that the amount of precipitation in Kolkata change significantly, whereas the figures for temperature remained almost stable. Rainfall reaches its highest level from July to August while temperature peaks during April and May.
Looking at the details, from January to April monthly temperature increased from roughly 17 C to just over 30 C. Average rainfall over the same period rises from approximately 20 mm in January to 100 in May. While the temperature stays roughly the same for the next four months, the amount of precipitation more than doubles over the period from May to June. It is seen a fall in figures for temperature from October at nearly 30 C till the end of the year at 20 C. In contrast, monthly precipitation shows a sharp drop for the same period from just under 30 C to -20 C.
