The illustration outlines the stages involved in the process of producing olive oil.

Overall, the relatively complex process has five main stages, beginning with harvesting fruits, followed by rinsing them with cold water, smashing olives in order to separate them into olive pasta and olive stones, and separating water from olive oil. The process is concluded in the delivering olive oil to the storage and sales.

In the initial stage, fruits are picked from trees. Then, before being sorted with belt, they are rinsed with cold water. In the following stage, olive fruits turned into olive paste and olive stones while smashing. Olive paste is packaged in the bag with holes in order to keep them fresh, prior to being pressed. Subsequently, they are separated into water and oil. In the final stage are delivered to storage and sales.

Task Response

The report effectively summarizes the main stages of the process and provides a clear overview. The progression of steps is logical and easy to follow. To improve, ensure more consistent grammatical accuracy, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement and sentence structure in the final stages (e.g., 'In the final stage are delivered...' is grammatically incomplete). Additionally, while the overview is good, ensuring all key transitions are smooth will help elevate the cohesion of the response. The report falls short of the required 150 words.

Coherence & Cohesion

The report follows a logical progression, moving from the beginning to the end of the process. However, the cohesion is somewhat weakened by repetitive sentence structures and some awkward transitions. To improve, try to use a wider variety of cohesive devices and linking words (e.g., 'Following this,' 'Once the paste has been prepared,' 'The final phase involves...'). Additionally, ensure that the overview accurately reflects the number of stages mentioned in the visual description to maintain consistency.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the task, but there is limited range and some inaccuracies in word choice (e.g., 'olive pasta' instead of 'paste', and 'delivering olive oil to the storage and sales' is slightly unnatural). To reach a higher band, aim for more sophisticated synonyms and precise collocations related to industrial processes, such as 'extraction,' 'refinement,' or 'distribution'.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

There are several grammatical issues that affect the flow and clarity of the report. Specifically, there are errors in verb tense and voice (e.g., 'olive fruits turned into' should be passive 'are turned into'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure (e.g., 'In the final stage are delivered to...'). Focus on mastering the passive voice, which is essential for describing processes, and ensure that every sentence has a clear subject and predicate.
