The illustration depicts the stages involved in the recycling process of plastic waste
The 7-step cycle begins with collecting plastic waste in bins and ends with it being processed into new products. This is achieved by turning discarded plastic products into raw materials that can be converted into a range of plastic commercial goods. Overall, the diagram shows a closed-loop system where waste is transformed back into useful items.
The cyclical process starts with the collection and then placement of plastic waste into specialized collection bins. Thereafter, it is categorized and separated.
At step 4, following the sorting phase, plastic waste is being compressed. After it has been balled, the resulting fragments drop into a liquid so that they can undergo a rigorous cleaning and washing process to remove any contaminants. Subsequently, the substance is melted down and formed into pellets. Eventually, this can be manufactured into various goods that contain plastic, such as bottles or household items like combs. Afterwards, the process commences again.
