The diagram illustrates three steps (construction, using, closure) of designing a landfill that used for household waste.

Overall, the process consists of three main stages: constructing the landfill, using it for waste liquid, finally closing it once it is full. During the process, waste liquid is collected by drainege tools.

Initially, the large man-made hole is dug in natural rock. The bottom and sides of a hole are covered with clay followed by synthetic lining to prevent leakage. Next, a drainege tank is installed in the bottom of the land, and a several drainege pipes are connected to it. Subsequently, household waste is deposited into a land with two trucks in both sides, while the waste liquid flows through the pipes into a drainege tank.

Finally, wnen the landfill reaches its capacity, it is covered with layer of clay. At the same time, the gas prodused by the waste is released through a gas pipe. The place of drainege pipes remained the same and it allows waste liqued continue flowing even after it is already have reached the capacity.
