The process diagram illustrates how safe drinking water is produced using a simple filtering system.
This process consists of four steps. It starts with pouring unclean water into the filtering system and ends with storing purified water in a barrel positioned below the filtering barrel.
Initially, contaminated water is poured into the filter through a bottle after opening the plastic lid. The water then passes through three layers of natural substances – sand, charcoal, and gravel – to remove germs, chemicals, and other harmful substances. The filtered water is then directed to a storage drum through a pipe located at the level of the gravel layer.
In the final stage, the purified water is stored in the lower drum which is sealed with a lid. Additionally, the container features a tap at the bottom, allowing users to access clean drinking water.
