The flowchart demonstrates the procedure on how to make a Vietnamese dish called Banh chung. The cuisine is made from glutinous rice, mung beans, and pork that goes through processes involving soaking, marinating, and boiling to produce the final product wrapped in phrynium leaves.
Firstly, the main component of the dish, glutinous rice, is soaked inside a bowl overnight while another material called mung beans are also soaked and cooked inside the boiling pan. To add protein, pork is marinated alongside ranges of seasonings like pepper, salt, and shallots to incorporate the flavors into the meat. In order to pack all the mixture, phrynium leaves are prepared and fold in order to hold the mixture together. After that, the mixture wrapped in phrynium leaves is tied using bamboo string to strongly hold it and shape the dish into a square.
Consequently, the package is then boiled for ten to twelve hours inside of a boiling pan. When the boiling process is completed, stack something heavy above it to make the dish much more compact. After being cooled, the Banh chung can be opened and served right away.
