The illustration demonstrates the sequence of transformation of tea leaves into five different types of tea.
Overall, five stages are employed in the process, which starts with leaf growth and wilting, concluding with open dying.
Regarding the shared initial and final stages. Initially, tea leaves, which have grown and achieved a standard, are taken away to pluck. After this, it is wilted, before being directed into various steps to produce different tea types, and finally is dried to convert into the final products.
Turning to certain steps for each type of tea. After wilting, if the tea leaves are immediately dried, the final product is white tea. Meanwhile, other types such as green tea must be added to steaming and rolling steps. Besides, the oolong tea is created by rolling the wilted leaves, then using them to slightly fermentate. In contrast, the large leaf black tea and small leaf black tea require full fermentation, combining with the prior steps are rolling and crushing , respectively.
