The illustration explains the process through which coffee is produced and prepared for supermarkets and shops. All in all, it comprises over eleven steps.
Overall, process involves several stages, beginning with harvesting beans and ending with packaging the final product. Notably, the process is predominantly man-made and involves several mechanical phases.
In the first stage, ripe coffee beans are picked manually from coffee plants. After harvesting, the beans are spread out and dried in the sun to reduce their moisture. Once dried, the beans are roasted before being rapidly cooled, which helps preserve their quality and aroma.
In the next stage, the cooled beans are ground into fine particles. The ground coffee is mixed with hot water, creating a rich mixture. Having been mixed, the mixture is strained to separate the liquid from the remaining solid. The step after straining, the liquid is cooled and frozen into solid form. Following that, the frozen coffee is grounded again into smaller particles and dried in a vacuum to remove remaining moisture. Finally, the dry coffee is packed into a jars and prepared for distribution to supermarkets and shops.
