The diagram illustrates the various stages in the production of ethanol from corn.Overall, there are nine main stages in the process of making ethanol, from the storage of corn to the transportation of ethanol fuel to gas stations.
At the first stage in the corn ethanol making process, corn is harvested and then put in a suitable place to ensure safe storage. Then corn is ready for milling into powder by a milling machine. Next, water is added to this powder and this material is cooked for 4 hours.
In the following stage in the process, the cooked mixture is fermented, which lasts 48 hours before this mixture is separated into liquid and a solid by- product. After that, the liquid is purified for a period of 5 hours to produce ethanol fuel. Finally, this fuel continues to be stored then transported to gas stations.
