The illustration depicts a process of converting bamboo into fabric.
Overall, the process consists of nine steps, ranging from planting to textile manufacturing. There are four main processes: growing the plants, extracting fibre, making the yarn, and weaving the fabric.
The first step begins by planting the bamboo trees; this stage usually occurs during the spring. Then, in the fall season, the grown bamboo plants are harvested for material preparations. Next each bamboo is cut into strips by machines. When all of the bamboo strips are ready, they are ground, a process that turns it into and become the liquid pulp. These liquid substances are filtered to collect the long fibres for the next process. The separated long fibres are softened by adding water and a special chemical – amine oxide. After the previous step, the transformed fibres are spun and become the yarn, then these threads are weaved for making a large fabric. The last step is to transform the textile into clothing such as shirts and socks.
