Overall, the process consists of four main stages, starting with harvesting of bamboo, followed by processing, and then the actual process of preparing fibers and its use. It is also evident that initially the manual labor is needed, then special equipment is required for cutting, filtering and other different stages.
First of all, the bamboo plants are planted in spring, after which they are harvested in autumn. Once collected they are cut into strips using a mechanical circular saw. Following this, they are crushed in order to make liquid pulp.
The next stage of the process begins when the mixture is filtered to separate the long usable fibres from the remaining liquid. Once filtered, the fibres are softened by adding mixture of water and chemical substance amine oxide. Proceeding to the next stage, the material is spun into yarn which is subsequently woven to produce an eventual bamboo-made fabric. After several transformations, the fabric is used in manufacturing clothing items.
