The first flow diagram illustrates the process of glass containers such as bottles and the second demonstrates the recycling of used glass. The first methodology uses three main raw materials, flowing through four stages, to make glass containers. Second process, is of five steps where used glass is recycled and converted into new items.
Glass container production begins with mixing of sand, soda ash, limestone and other chemicals, followed by melting the mixture in a glass furnace at temperatures of approximately 1500 degrees Celsius. After that, the melted glass mixture is shaped into glass containers through the molten glass blowing method.
In the glass recycling process, firstly, the used glass is accumulated for sorting. Secondly, the collected glass is sorted according to its colors, followed by impurity removal, which is done by washing the glass. Finally, the cleaned glass is crushed and melted and passed through the molding machine to be molded into new glass products
