The diagram illustrates the main steps in the process of making jeans from cotton.
Overall, the process involved eight sequential steps, beginning with growing cotton plants, nurturing them and ending with selling jeans from the cotton.
At the first step, the cotton trees are planted in the cotton fields in Asia, for example India and China.Next, they are nurtured by water and chemicals. After 160 days, the fibre harvested and separated. After that, the fibre is transported to the factory and undergoes a series of steps such as being washed, bleached, dyed before being spun into yarn. During this stage, elastin may be added to make the fabric soft and durable.
In the next stage of the process, the yarn is transferred to the textile factory to be woven into denim. The denim is then sent to another factory, where it is cut and sewn into jeans. At the same time, jeans are shipped to distribution centers such as the USA and Europe by cargo vessels. In the final stage, the products are delivered to physical shops or sell through online retailers, where they are sold to consumers.
