The diagram illustrates how jeans are produced from cotton.
Overall, the production of jeans undergo a chain of processes. It begins in cotton fields, and in the end they are available both in stores and online.
First of all, the productions process starts in cotton fields in Asia, namely in countries, such as India or China. In the fields, cotton is constantly watered and various chemicals are used for their growth. After watering and chemicals usage, cotton fibre is harvested and separated.
Following that, cotton fibre undergoes several processes. First, fibre is washed, after washing it is bleached. The next process is dying the fibre. After that process, it is spun into yarn at a factory. Elastane can be added after fibre has been turned into yarn. Following that, yarn is spinned into denim at a textile factory.
At another factory, denim is cut and buttons are sewn. After that zips are added. Ready jeans are then shipped to distribution centres, for instance in the United States and Europe. Following that, jeans are available to the public in physical stores or online stores.
