The given illustration demonstrates how jeans are manufactured from cotton.
Overall, there are eight steps in the sequence, starting with growing cotton fields, followed by the conversion of cotton into yarn, and ending with selling products in physical or online stores.
The first five steps involve the transformation of the raw materials. Initially, cotton fields in Asian countries such as India or China, grown by skillful farmers, require water and chemicals in order to fully develop in 160 days. After this, the fibres of mature cotton plants are already harvested and separated by agricultural machines. Subsequently, when being delivered to a factory, they undergo a washing, bleaching, and dyeing process after being spun into yarns. In this procedure, elastane substance may be added, making yarns more flexible.
Turning to the remaining steps, in the textile factory, these yarns are conveyed into a special equipment, resulting in denim. Moving into the following step, in another manufactory, denim is cut and sewn to create jeans before adding buttons and zips. These jeans in turn are transported to distribution centres such as the USA and Europe, ready to be purchased in physical or online stores.
