The diagram describes the multi-stage process of producing leather goods.
Overall, the procedure mainly consists of eight steps, beginning with drying animal skins and ending with transporting the processed leather to factories for the production of various products.
In the first stage, animal skins are dried to preserve them for long-term use. After that, the dried skins are delivered to factories, where they are washed in a liquid consisting of water and lime. After washing, the skins undergo a soaking stage with a lime solution to remove any remaining hair and impurities.
Following the soaking process, the skins are passed through a flattening machine to smooth the surface. Then, they are continuously subjected to another soaking process using a liquid called tannin, which is made by combining water and vegetable matter and helps strengthen the leather. The skins undergo a polishing stage to enhance their appearance before being transported to the factories to manufacture leather goods such as shoes, handbags and clothing.
