Before the flood, the river had a large bend, with a bridge crossing it. Several houses were built near this part of the river, while most of residential buildings were located in wooded areas further away.
As can be seen from the new map, compared with the old map, there are many differences between the new and the old. After the flood, the river changed its course and devided into two parts. The curved part became an oxbow lake, and the river itself became striaghter. As a result, the bridge disappeared as well as the houses and trees near it. However, most buildings that were farther from the river survived flood and remained in good condition.
In conclusion, the flood caused major changes to the river, while most of buildings located away from the river were not seriously affected.
