The maps depict the evolution of the Shakefield town between 1995 and the present view.
Overall, the town has been transformed into a residential place; areas of apartments and hotels have been extended. The elimination of the green space, fishing places, and farmland has created space for the introduction of resorts, accommodations, and sports places. Moreover, only the cafe has stayed untouched.
In 1995, the area used to have fewer apartment choices. Also, at the bottom of the map, there was a boat for fishing and a fish market occupied above it. At the heart of town, a public park and a hotel were situated there. Housing and a sports place were located on the top left corner, and farmland was on the top right corner.
Now, there are more human-occupied places. The fishing boats have been replaced by yachts on the sea. The farmland has been demolished to make way for golf and tennis courses, and in its place a green area has been introduced. Below this, relaxing resorts and a car park are placed. New houses, restaurants, and accommodations are on the left of the map.
