The two maps illustrate the floor plan of the central library at present and as it used to be two dacades ago.
Overall, there had been almost no changes in the physical outline of the building, but significant rearrangements took place.
Starting from the most prominent spot, the centre is now an empty passage, wherease twenty years ago there were tables and chairs.
On the left from the entrance, used to be a reading room featuring newspapers and magazines which is now replaced with a computer room. A little furhter from the entrance where an adult fiction books used to be, now there is a more modest in size all reference books section. Finally, at the furthes from the entrance left corner there is now a big space featuring together children’s fiction books and a venue for storytelling events with sofas for more comfort, which replaced a section with CD’s and computer games.
On the right no less important changes had happened. Equiry desk gave a way for a brand new cafe neighbouring a section that fetures together adult fiction, information desk and self-service machines. Lastly, as childrens’s books section moved to the left, on its place had been made a lecture room.
