Overall, the library has been totally transformed in a number of different ways. Additionally, many utilities have been added to this place over the given period.
20 years ago, it was still an simple area with some basic reading rooms. This floor was arranged with tables and chairs in the middle, in front of the entrance, and each corner of the library had one room. To the north-west of the floor was a digital room which had CDs, videos, or computer games while there were many fiction books for adults between the newspaper and magazine reading room. Meanwhile, in the north-eastern corner was an area for children’s books with the adult non-fiction section situated directly in front of it. An enquiry desk was positioned in the bottom right-hand corner of this floor, where visitors could find more information about tickets and book returns.
However, after 20 years, this region has experienced a huge range of remarkable innovations. The tables and chairs in the central area have been removed to create a clear path for the entrance. The digital room has been expanded and transformed into a new area with children’s ficton books, storytelling events and sofas. The hall in front of this room is for all reference books instead of fiction ones while the reading room has also been replaced by a computer room. Another development is the emergence of a lecture room, which has been built on the old foundation of the children’s books area. The hall right next to it has been added a lot of utilities like adult fiction books, self service machines and a new information desk in the center. Also, a cafe has been built to the south-east of this library.
