The diagram below shows the Monarch butterfly’s life cycle. As we can see from the diagram, we can immediately conclude that there are 9 steps and divided into 4 stages of life. This process starts with migration north and end with migration south.
To begin with, butterfly will migrate north in adult stage and mating with another butterfly. Then in egg stage, they will lay an egg. The eggs will be laid on milkweed. Usually, the amount of eggs are massive. After 14 days, the eggs that laid will be hatch into a larva. The larva will grow and turn into a caterpillar on milkweed. In the next stage, there will be an attachment of larva.
This stage will most likely took 10 days until it chrysalis. In this step, the adult of the butterfly will emergenced and will produced an adult of butterfly. In the final step of the process, the adult butterfly will migrate south. The duration between the butterfly migrate south to migration north took approximately 6 motnsh until it turns into migration north.
