The diagram illustrates the procedure for manufacturing sugar from sugar cane. Overall, there are seven steps carried out in the process: growing, harvesting, crushing, purifying juice, evaporating, centrifuging, and, lastly, drying and cooling.
Firstly, the sugar cane is grown for 12 to 18 months when this period ends, the crops of the sugar cane are harvested and collected for further processing. In the next step, the harvested sugar canes are passed through a crushing machine that generates sugar cane juice.
Furthermore, the sugar cane juice is purified, particularly using a limestone filter. The filtered juice is transferred to the evaporator, where, with the help of heat, the juice transforms into syrup. The syrup is passed to a centrifuge, which separates the sugar crystals from the syrup. In the last step of sugar preparation, the sugar crystals formed in the previous stage are stored for drying and cooling, resulting in usable sugar.
