The bar chart gives infromation about the number of landline telephone owners per 1000 people in countries in tthe Southeast Asia in 2000, 2002 and 2004.
Overall, it is clear that Singapore and Brunei were the two leading countries in using wired telephones, while the opposite pattern was seen in Myanmar. Additionally, except for Cambodia and Vietnam, the remaining countries had witnessed a downward trend in landline telephone onwership.
Looking at details, Singapore was the country with the highest number of wired telephone users per thousand, followed by Brunei Darussalam, with 450 and 250 people, respectively, in the first year, both figures experienced a drop of 30 people in the next 4 years. The same trend was seen in Philippines with a much less number, at around 70-90 people.
Meanwhile, there was a rise in the level of landline telephone owners in Cambodia and Vietnam, with the figures for both countries were the same in the last year, at 50 people per thousand. Conversely, in 2004, no one used wired phones in Indonesia, Lao and especially Thailand, despite its initial high number at roughly 100 people. Additionally, Myanmar remained its figures at under 10 landline telephone users over the timeframe period.
