The two plans illustrate how a medical centre changed over a period of two years, from 2008 to 2010.
Overall, the centre underwent a noticeable expansion, with several new facilities added. Although some original rooms were reduced in size, this allowed for an increase in the total number of rooms.
In 2008, the main entrance was located at the bottom of the diagram. Directly opposite the entrance was the reception area, with a waiting room to the left and a laboratory to the right. Behind the reception, a staff office could be accessed via a long corridor. On the upper side of this corridor, there was a treatment room and three doctor’s offices.
By 2010, significant changes had taken place. The entrance was slightly relocated to accommodate the expansion of the laboratory, and a new pharmacy was built adjacent to it. While the reception, waiting room, and staff office remained largely unchanged, the treatment room and doctor’s offices were made smaller, allowing for the addition of a fourth doctor’s office. Furthermore, two new rooms were introduced: an education room and a mother and child room, both constructed in the bottom-left area of the layout. Finally, a storage room was also added in the top-right corner.
