The diagram illustrates the steps involved in process of growing and preparing pineapples as well as pineapple product. Overall, the linear process is quite straightforward and mostly has human labor. It consists of natural and chemical processes, which end with three made products: pineapple juice, canned pineapple and whole fruit.
The process begins with the cultivation of pineapples, which require temperature to be between 28 and 30 degrees. Pineapples used for products vary in size: the smallest ones 26 cm in length. After 7 months, pineapples become medium and chemicals are splashed on their leaves. Following 5 months, they reach 30 cm in size and weight 2 kilos. Then, there is a second phase during which all of three kinds of pineapples are being washed.
Next, each pineapple product includes different steps. The smallest pineapple and the medium one are being cut and peeled. Lastly, the peel of the smallest pineapple is mixed in blender, which extracts the juice from it. After juice has been extracted the final product can be consumed. However, after peeling stage, pineapples which are medium in size are being cut into small circles. Afterwards, these pieces are put into a can and finally the product is done. Nevertheless, the process of the largest size of pineapples is completely different. After being washed, pineapples’ leaves are covered with wax. Subsequently, these waxed pineapples are put into the case and delivered by water transport.
