The diagram illustrates the process of cultivating pineapples and converting them into different commercial items .
Overall , the process begin with growing pineapple , followed by harvesting ,sorting and end with exporting them .
Firstly , pineapple crowns are cultivated in tropical environment with temperature ranging from 23 to 30 degree celcius . They are spaced apart to 26cm to ensure growth properly and 7 months later , ethylene is applied on the fruit .Then the fruit takes 5 months to convert in the full mature stage , by which they weigh approximately 2 kg and measure about 30 cm .
After being harvested , pineapples are throughly washed to remove any dirt or impurities ,then sorted by size .The smallest frurits have their crown removed by cutter , and are peeled and juiced using extractor ,while the medium-sized ones are also decrowned , peeled and sliced before being canned . The biggest size pineapples which are coated with wax , decorated into crates and finally exported them overseas
