The given diagram depicts the process of how aluminum cans are recycled.
Overall, it is clearly seen that there are five main stages which consist of collecting, cleaning, sorting, shredding, heating, rolling, and recycling.
At the first stage of the recycling process, the cans which are made of aluminum are thrown into the recycle bin. Following this, these cans are collected by truck and transported to a recycling plant. Subsequently, those aluminum cans are then cleaned and sorted to determine whether they are recyclable. After being sorted, these cleaned cans are shredded and compressed by using a pressing machine. Once this is completed, the shredded pieces are heated until they are melted. Next, the melted liquid is rolled to 2.5 to 6 mm.
In the final step, the rolled sheets are transformed into reusable cans which are 74% made from recycled material. These recycled cans are then distributed to UK companies such as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.
