The diagram describes the production of recycled aluminium cans.
Overall, there are seven steps for aluminium cans recycling. Starting from gathering the used ones from specific garbage until getting the new recycled cans after several production steps.
The recycling of aluminium cans starts by collecting the used cans that were throwed by people in a specific garbage container. Then trucks will shift the used cans to the factory yard. Where the cans will be sorted and cleaned, after that they will be shredded into small pieces and finally compressed together making cubes of aluminium.
In the following step the compressed shredded cans will be heated and melted in high temperature kiln. The melted aluminium will be cooled and reshaped as a thin roller of 2.5 to 6mm thick sheets. The manufactured sheets of aluminium will be used to produce new aluminium cans that are ready to be used in markets. Moreover, the recycled cans represent 74% of the total used cans in the UK.
