The diagram illustrates the various procedures involved in the water cycle.
From an overall perspective, it can be observed that there are nine processes in the step-by-step sequence necessary for this cycle to be successfully completed. It indicates that there are two paths for water recycling: one from evaporation to surface runoff, and the other from evaporation to transpiration.
The first step begins with evaporation, where water evaporates from the sea due to intense sunlight. It then moves to the next stage – condensation, where cold and warm clouds collide, resulting in rainfall on the mountains. After the rain, water flows down the mountains in two directions. In one direction, it flows into the sea or a lake, where it evaporates again. In the other direction, it infiltrates into groundwater. Next, plants can use the groundwater according to their needs, and finally, transpiration occurs as the last step in the process.
