Two pie charts compare how time is spent on tablets and smartphones across six different categories in an unspecified country.
Overall, gaming is the main usage on both devices, particularly on tablets, accounting for approximately half of total usage, whereas music, news, and other purposes make up the smallest proportions on both types of devices. Notably, the figures for social networking and utilities show close distribution.
On smartphones, gaming is the main purpose of spending time, constituting 35%, which is closely followed by social networking at 29%. Utilities make up 20%, which shows that smartphones are frequently used for everyday functions. In contrast, music and videos represent 8%, while news and other activities are the least popular, accounting for 3% and 5%, respectively.
By contrast, tablets show a different pattern, with other purposes constituting more time than those on smartphones. However, gaming also exhibits the highest proportion at 57%, which almost accounts for half of total usage, maintaining its dominant position. Social networking, music, and videos make up closely related proportions at 15% and 13%, respectively. Meanwhile, the rest of the categories, namely, news, utilities, and others, make up less than 10%.
