This diagram illustrate two different methods. For manufacturing black tea. The traditional way is used for making loose tea and tea bags are made using modern method
The process starts with picking the tea leaves. For high quality tea, the picker pickup top two leafs and bud. Then leaves goes under withering process, where 60% moisture is removed by passing air through leaves. After that, the withered tea leaves will enter next stage using either traditional or modern method. In traditional method, leafs are rolled on a flat surface to remove enzyme gas. However, in modern process tea goes throughout cutting process (cut, torn and curled) to form tea bags in less time.
Furthermore, in fourth stage, leaves are spreaded on tiles for oxidation where mixture of enzyme and air changes the green leaves to Copper. The Final stage is drying or firing the leaves in oven or hot air dryers, so the flavours and aromes are released as well as 97% moisture is gets removed.
