A glance at the diagram provided reveals the facilities and steps involved in the production of leather products.
Overall, the entire process comprises 10 primary steps, commencing with the drying of animal skins and concluding with the manufacture of finished results such as shoes and wallets. It is also important to note that the process involves a combination of mechanical techniques, manual labor and chemical treatment.
Initially, animal skins are hung on a string and left to dry for a particular time. Once dry, they are then transported by a truck to a leather processing factory. Upon arrival, the skins are place into a tank, where they are washed in water and lime, which remove impurities and waste on surface. The resulting skins are continuously soaked in a second tank with lime until they are completely clean. In the next step, a dedicated machine flattens animal hides and then it is again put into a larger tank, where it is treated by tannin ( a mixture of water and vegetable matter). Once treated , the material is polished by hand to improve its appearance and texture. In the final step, the final result is delivered to a factory, where they are created into leather items such as shoes, wallets, and bags, ending the manufacturing process.
