The flowchart illustrates the process of butterfly’s life cycle.
It can be seen from the flowchart that there are 4 stages for butterflyto grow as an adult butterflies. The process begins with female butterfly laying their eggs on a plant and ends when adult butterflies starts to metamorphosis and every butterfly mates with each other to breed.
Looking at the stages in detail, after adult butterflies mate, the eggs will be laid on the top of a plant by female butterfly. Then, these eggs which contain embryo will starts to develop for 2 until 3 weeks. At stage 3, the eggs is hatched and caterpillars will grow for its skin-shedding for 2 months. While caterpillars are growing, a pupal is created by caterpillars.
The last stage called pupal stage, happening for 2 weeks then metamorphosis occurs for each of butterflies. After that, adult butterflies will find their partner and mate with them. These stages are repeated.
