The diagram illustrates the process of making five types of tea, consisting of white tea, green tea, oolong tea, large leaf black tea and small leaf black tea.
Overall, five tea types undergo the same initial and final stages, but there are some differences in the intermediate steps. Oolong and two types of black tea require various steps to make, while white tea is the simplest one to create.
White tea and green tea undergo the same preparation, beginning with growing tea leaves. After that, those leaves are plucked and wilted to prepare for the next steps. In the next stage, withered leaves are dried in oven drying, resulting in white tea. Meanwhile, wilted leaves undergoing steaming and rolling steps will become green tea after being dried.
On the other hand, the three other types of tea demand more complex steps, especially the fermentation stage. Atfer the preparation, withered leaves are rolled and go through slight fermentation, being dried in oven drying before resulting in oolong tea. Large leaf black tea needs rolling before full fermentation step while small leaf black tea needs crushing before the process of full permentation. Finally, both black-tea types are put into oven drying before becoming the production.
