The diagram illustrates how to produce five different types of tea. Overall, this process consists of four distinct steps, starting from growing leaves to drying them in an oven. Besides, base on the kind of tea leaves, additional stages are added.
Firstly, tea leaves are grown in ideal conditions before being plucked and harvested by producers. Next, tea leaves can be sorted into five types: white tea, green tea, oolong tea, large leaf black tea, and small leaf black tea. After this stage, leaves are wilted to reduce their size and facilitate processing. If the target product is white tea, the leaves can be directed to the oven – the final stage before the final products are available. If not, withered leaves will undergo extra treatment.
Subsequently, green tea, oolong tea, and large leaf black tea need to be rolled to produce flat surface areas, while the other kind of black tea is crushed into smaller pieces. In addition, only green tea leaves undergo the steaming process before the rolling stage that is mentioned. Following this, while oolong tea requires slight fermentation, black tea leaves undergo full fermentation. In the final stage, all types of tea are dried in an oven before being delivered to different places for consumption.
