The presented figure demonstrates the process in which shellfish is laballed for international trading.
Overall, the process for labelling shellfish involves five key stages including artisanal fishing, monitoring, labelling system, shellfish processing, and transporting; each stage is performed in its specific location.
In the first stage, artisanal fishing is done by some equipped boats in the ocean. The boats then transfer all fishing to the seaside areas designated for this purpose. Simultaniously, all boats are automately monitored via GPS signals transmitted to the monitoring center in Santiago via a satellite. Once fishing is done, labelling system is informed by monitoring center to become ready for the next stage, which is generating a barcode label to certify the delivered catching. The catch is then transmitted to shellfish processing plant, where the collected shellfish is prepared for exporting. Finally, the product is distributed throughout the local and international market via different vehicles such as airplanes and trucks.
