The glass production process begins by mixing four materials, including sand, soda ash, limestone, and other chemicals, together. After that, this mixture is boiled in a glass furnace at approximately 1500 oC to become molten glass. This molten glass is shaped by blowing to create glass containers.
In terms of glass recycling, at the first step, used glass is collected. After being collected, it is sorted by colour. At the next step, this glass is washed to remove impurities. At the fourth step, the clean glass is crushed and melted. Then the molten glass is formed into new products by a mould in the final step.
