The illustrations demonstrate the number of people that live in the city and countryside in the decades between 2010 and 2024 in millions. Overall, at first glance residents in the urban area are increasing, while rural areas are decreasing. However, the percentage of people staying the same.
Considering the population based on regions, in 2010 the number of dwellers in rural areas was 600 more than urban areas, however in the next decade the city locals overcame the countryside and the difference became 1250 in millions, 4300 and 3050, respectively. By 2030, individuals in the metropolitan area will be 8900 which is nearly 3 times more than the countryside community (2890). After 10 years citizens will grow only to 300 people (9200), whereas the number of rural people will decrease to 890.
In terms of percentage, the proportion of children is the highest in both urban and rural areas, 39% and 43%, in respective order. Following that, the share of male and females were equal among citizens (23%), while women were 7% more than men in the countryside (26% and 19%). Lastly, the older generation had the lowest rate in both regions with merely 3 % of difference (15% and 12%).
