The maps give data on the developments that have taken place at Queen Mary Hosptial for forty years, between 1960 and 2000.
In general, there were eight changes that made a huge difference from each year’s construction works.
In 1960, there was a big shopping centre which then demolished to make a way for a small cancer centre and a Pharmacy that was added to the left side of the hospital in 1980. In the western corner of an area, once there was a farmland, next turned into a nursing school after 4 decades.
From 1960 to 1980, the hospital and a car park were not touched until 2000 when the car park demonstrated and built in much smaller form next to the nursing school in east western part of the location. The most noteable change has happened with the cancer centre where the size of the bilding expansed that took all the place in west and half of the south part of the area in 2000.
