The three maps illustrate the changes that Queen Mary Hospital had experienced since it was built in 1960.
Overall, it is clearly observed that hospital had expanded significantly and the car park was reduced by a half to accommodate new changes.
In 1960, the hospital was located to the right of the shopping center, adjacent to the main road. Below the hospital, there was a car park, while farmland occupied the area beneath the shopping center.
By 1980, significant changes had occurred. The shopping center was replaced by a cancer center, and the farmland was converted into a nursing school. Additionally, a pharmacy was added next to the hospital, which remained in its original position. The car park was unchanged.
By 2000, the cancer center expanded, taking over the space of the pharmacy and part of the nursing school. The pharmacy moved next to the hospital, and the nursing school was reduced in size, but remained in its previous location. The car park stayed the same.
