The pictorials compare the transformation of a small coastal village into a resort over a fifteen-year period.
Overall, several tourist facilities and attractions had been added to the place. However, the development took its toll on the environment.
To begin with, the village population grew significantly from 40,000 in 2000 to 70,000 in 2015 and the place received 10000 visitors in the same year. Accordingly, there had been an increase in the number of houses in the village. The pre-existing hotel was expanded along with the addition of a car park. The fish market near the sea had also been replaced by holiday apartments. Moreover, in 2015, a school could be seen in the village.
Considering the other changes, a large area on the east was covered by fruit-and-vegetable farmland and a forest park in 2000 which were cleared to make way for a golf course, a swimming pool and tennis courts. The coastal area also lost many trees as the earlier fishing harbour was converted into a private beach where a cafe and restaurant came into existence.
