The given maps illustrate how a town named Bridell and its surrounding places transformed in 1800, 1900 and 2000.
Overall, it is clear that the layout remained unchanged throughout the period. While the western side was recorded with no development, the eastern part experienced significant modernizations.
From 1800 to 1900, the northern part of the maps showed no alteration, including the unchanged farmland (crops), woodland and river stour. Similarly, the Brindell town, situated in the bottom left corner, stayed the same. Only the farmland with animals, which was located to the southwest of the map, was removed, making way for a newly-constructed industry zone and a village for workers called Bun Hill.
In the next century from 1900 to 2000, there were no changes in the southern side, farmland (crops) and the river stour. To the northeast of the map, a new park called Bun Hill replaced part of the woodland, and the park was established outside, facing the river.
