The diagrams illustrate how the layout of a preschool classrom has changed over the last fifteen years. There have been several changes, the most noticeable being the decreasing of Play areas, adding a new Art area and renovation of some equipments.
In 2010, there were two playing spots in north and south sides of the classroom, also there is a teacher’s desk was located between them. In addition, three classroom tables were allocated in the middle of the room and main equipments required for class works, such as white-board, media system, puzzels, and blocks, have stored in shelves right behind the tables. Additional shelves, which contain books, dolls, toys, art supplies, and a sink, were placed in each corner of the room.
Turning to the present day map, it can be seen that a teacher’s desk, as well as play area on the south side of the room, have been removed and classroom tables were relocated close to the west wall of the classroom. Also, a new Art area have been added next to art supplies’ shelf. Following this, the main equipments were updated to modern technologies, such as smart-board, speaker, and computer.
